Early Bird Club Officer Training

Jump start 2015 by getting your club officers trained in December 2014!

Join us for Lubbock's Club Officer Training where we will come together to train our officers, learn from each other, and share ideas. The training is open to all Toastmasters, not just club officers.

When: December 8, 2014, from 6:30pm to 9pm (central)
Where: Orlando's Restaurant at 2402 Ave Q, Lubbock, TX (in the private dining room on the south side of the restaurant.

Don't Forget Your Club Officer Lists

As we head into the hustle and bustle that always surrounds December, don't forget to get your club's officer lists filed with Toastmasters International.

If you're electing new officers, now is the time to do so. Once you have your officers confirmed, it only takes a minute to file them and can be done by any club officer.

Just go to www.Toastmasters.org, log in with your user information, click on My Toastmasters, choose Profile, click on Club Central, and update your Club Officer information.

Stacy Cain Wins District Competition

Distinguished Toastmaster Stacy Cain from Lubbock's Llano Estacado Toastmasters Club won the District 23 Speech Evaluation contest on Friday, October 24, 2014.

After being selected to represent her club, along with Taryn Colvin, another Llano member, Stacy went on to place second in the Area 61 Speech Evaluation Contest behind Articulate Toastmasters member Angelia Heare. At the Division F contest, Stacy won and moved forward to the District 23 contest where she faced off against five other competitors from all across the Oklahoma Panhandle, Western Texas, and New Mexico. After a round of six evaluations, Stacy emerged as the winner and brought the trophy back to Lubbock.

Stacy is a member of two clubs, Llano Estacado and South Plains Toastmasters. She also participates in many Toastmasters events around Lubbock such as the recent Rawls College of Business demonstration meeting.

Fall 2014 - Area Contest Winners

Area Governors Amber Marsh and Kerry Mobley held the combined Area 61 & 62 contests for Evaluation and Tall Tales on September 20, 2014, at the Rawls College of Business on Texas Tech campus.

Ben Mercado, president of Eloquent Raiders, participated as the Test Speaker for the Evaluation Contest.

The first and second place winners from each contest in each Area will move on to the Division F contest on October 11, 2014.

Area 61/62 Contests - Fall 2014

The combined Area 61 & Area 62 contests for Tall Tales & Evaluation will take place on September 20, 2014, in Room 103 of the Rawls College of Business.

Contestant and judges briefings will being at 9:30am with the contests to run from 10:00am to noon.

Taryn Rainwater Wins 3rd Place at District Contest

Entering her first ever speech contest this spring, Taryn advanced to the highly competitive District 23 International Speech contest and returned to Lubbock with a 3rd Place finish.

Taryn is a member of a the Llano Estacado Toastmasters club. After winning her club's contest, she advanced to the Area 61 contest on March 29th and then to the Division F contest on April 12, winning both of them.

On May 3rd she competed in the District 23 International Speech contest in El Paso, Texas. Facing five other Division champions from all over New Mexico, Western Texas, and the Oklahoma Panhandle, Taryn presented a motivational and inspiration presentation with a core message of love, family, and the positive impact of blended families. Given in just seven minutes, the speech, titled "Stepping Into My New Life," chronicles her experiences with and personal definition of step-families.

Division F Contest Winners for Spring 2014

Area 61 & 62 Governor Ernee Kozyreff and Lt. Governor Marketing Jef Conn hosted the International Speech and Table Topics contests for Division F today. Toastmasters from Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Hobbs, Eunice, and Clovis came together for the event which determined which Toastmasters - only the first place finisher from each contest advances* - would go on to the District 23 contests in El Paso, Texas, on May 2-3, 2014.

Toastmasters Visit Rawls College of Business

Toastmasters members in Lubbock gathered together to present a demonstration meeting for the Managerial Communication students at the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business on March 31, 2014.

Members of Eloquent Raiders (the Toastmasters club on Texas Tech campus) hosted the event along with some help from members of the Llano Estacado and South Plains clubs. District 23's Lt. Governor Marketing, Jef Conn, acted as the event's emcee before turning it over to Eloquent Raiders' VP Education, Ben Mercado, to run the meeting at the Toastmaster.

Approximately 177 students attended the event.

Area 61 & 62 Spring Contest Winners for 2014

Toastmasters from all over Lubbock came together for the Area 61 & 62 Spring contests on March 29th.

Our winners will move on to the Division contest which will take place on Saturday, April 12th, at Green Lawn Church of Christ in Lubbock, TX, from 1pm to 3pm. The winners of each Area will compete against the other Areas in Division F.  Area 63 covers the Midland/Odessa region while Area 64 covers south eastern New Mexico.

Area 61 & 62 Governor Ernee Kozyreff organized the event and tapped Jason Davis to be the Contest Toastmaster while Ernee oversaw the judging.

The first and second place contestants, listed below, will move on to the Division Contest on April 12th.
